Why Keep Pine Grove

Location, location, location! That’s what you are told when you ask what makes a condominium or estate so attractive. And that is one of the main attractions of Pine Grove. It enjoys an enviable location. Its main entrance faces Ulu Pandan Road, Clementi Road is to its left, a jogging track runs behind parallel to Sungei Ulu Pandan, and there is another entrance from Pandan Valley Road on its right. This estate sits just next to Districts 9 and 10, a safe middle-class neighbourhood. Not surrounded by high-rise condos, it is quiet and airy. This is what I like about Pine Grove – its space. There is plenty of breathing space.

This feature of Pine Grove is most precious to me -- its spaciousness. This is a rarity today. New condos are densely packed with smaller units and lack the spacious grounds that Pine Grove possesses. The majority of the units in Pine Grove are 1750 sq ft. If I had to sell my home in Pine Grove, I will never find another place like it in the same area, or even nearby. Developers don’t build this size in the Holland Road/Ulu Pandan or surrounding area for less than $2 million. Moreover, the maintenance we pay for the full condo facilities is very reasonable. If I had to move to a new condo, it will cost me a bomb.

Pine Grove also tops the list for its easy accessibility to almost everything important. It is minutes away from good schools, NUS, polytechnics, ITE, One North, healthcare institutions, e.g., hospitals, polyclinics, dental clinics, markets (Farrer, Ghim Moh, Holland Village, Clementi, Bukit Timah), supermarkets, as well as high-end and low-end eating places. Transport is convenient too. Taxis and buses ply along the main road, and a short bus ride takes you to the Clementi MRT. Orchard Road is 10 minutes away by car.

I have built up my home in Pine Grove over many years of hard work. I love it. I want to relax and enjoy my impending retirement years in this home that I spent my working life making. I don’t wish to be uprooted now, after all that I have put into my home. It is not just a “unit”, an apartment, or some item of trade. It is my HOME.
