For Ken Lee Of Airview Towers

We refer to your article Today, 26 April, Front Page.

We are a network of condo owners who have decided to show Ken Lee of Airview Towers that we applaud his fight to keep his home and would like to start a fund to help him to pay for his efforts in doing so.

The brave man singlehandedly took on the STB, High Court and Court of Appeals to prevent the en bloc of his home - for a promise he made to his children - for love of home.

We do not know Ken Lee at all and have never met him. However, we in our own condos are fighting against the en blocs which are affecting all of us individually and would like Mr Lee to know that we share his sentiments and we too will oppose the sale of our homes even if we have to fight alone like him to do so. We express our admiration and heartfelt thanks to him for standing up for what he believes in - and spending a vast amount of money on principle.

We all believe that there is HOPE FOR STAYERS in Singapore.

We are good citizens who bought our homes (many of us before the enbloc rules came into play) and thought that we could stay in our homes and leave only if we made a personal decision to leave these treasured homes. We do not wish to en bloc in our various estates, and for us, it's not, and will never be, about the money. It's about continuity for our children, love of our homes and the knowledge that as the property market has escalated, we will never be able to cash out for an equivalent abode.

We appeal to like-minded Singaporeans to donate $10 per person to Ken Lee.

We urge you, Editor, to publish our letter on the FRONT PAGE of your newspaper. We enclose $520 (from 31 of us, to help him).

This is a small gesture, no doubt, but we hope TODAY will publish this letter and start a fund for Ken.
