NUS (the National University of Singapore) is doing a survey on the
effects of the Collective Sale on society. Make yourself heard! The aim of the survey is to examine the intangibles at play for those involved in Collective Sale transactions, which have yet not been comprehensively documented. NUS Departments of Real Estate and Social Work would like to examine the implications of Collective Sales on the family, community and older (ageing/ elderly) homeowners. If you are under threat of enbloc or have been enbloced, do take part in the survey. Keep looking at this site as links to the Survey will be posted soon! (To participate now, see current link below). We ask all readers to take part in the survey which will be held from mid May to July 2009. You can contact the NUS researcher now. All replies will be directly sent to the University and will not be revealed to HOPE. We are merely acting as a conduit for the survey to reach more Stayers or En blocers. We urge all readers to take part and some of the questions asked will be on (1) Respondents' background understanding of the collective sale (CS) process; (2) Owner's perceptions and personal experiences of the Collective Sales process (be they in the majority, or minority); (3) Post-Collective Sales experiences (if relevant); (4) Suggestions to improve the Collective Sales process Respondents are assured that there will be no identifiers of them, or their estates. All information gathered will be discarded / erased after publication of the findings. Respondents will be given a survey form to be filled up and this should take less than 30 minutes. This can be face-to-face (preferred method) at a place and time convenient to the participants, or done online. Respondents can withdraw from the research any time without any reasons by informing the NUS research team and all the data collected will be discarded. The interview can be conducted in English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil and at a place and time convenient to the respondents. Please write directly to Luke Tan Weigen at tel 65163555 or email rstwl@nus.edu.sg for more information or to alert the researchers of your desire to take part. Is there HOPE for Stayers? |
